Be On the Look Out for the best boy ever…oh wait, that’s ME! Hey there, I’m Bolo. I’m a thoughtful, quiet, and charming fellow who is so easy to get along with.

I’m about a 7.5 years old, and let me tell ya, I’m ready to retire into a loving home with a big, warm bed! I am doing excellent in my foster home – I’m fully housebroken and enjoy going for a steady stroll and dipping my toes in the kiddie pool.

I do very well with my foster dog brother and love to play with him all the time. I can be shy with new people, but I am so loyal to my family and will follow you everywhere once you are my person. If you are looking for a calmer, distinguished boy to add to your family, I would be the perfect fit. Please ask to see me today!

Since I’m in a foster home, if you would like to meet me, please email foster@alachuacounty.us or call the main office at (352) 264-6870 to arrange for a meet-and-greet with me and my foster mom!

November 2023 (fostered):

This guy is just so, so sweet. He may not be a total social butterfly but once you are his person, he will follow you everywhere. He absolutely loves his foster brother, and they play endlessly.

Bolo is a quiet and thoughtful fellow who deserves to be treasured for the gem that he is. Bolo recently happily dinner his holiday attire and dreams that Santa will deliver to him the perfect family.

✨🤩 We may or may not have a lil local star amongst us 🤩✨
After BOLO received his monthly medical checkup yesterday, this handsome boy accompanied his foster mom to work- which entailed attending a ribbon cutting at GoodNature Pet Store on Main Street!

Bolo was thrilled with the doggie treats that kept appearing on the floor like magic, and he signaled his approval of shopping locally. Bolo even became a media star by being featured in an edition of MainStreet Daily News!

His handler reported back that everyone was impressed by his gentle, calm demeanor! So, how about arranging a meet-and-greet to say hello to this cute ham?

November 2023 (prior to finding foster home)

This precious soul has had such a rough past, you can tell he’s been worn down by a lot of misfortune. We’d absolutely love to see him get the happy ending he so desperately deserves.

So, let us tell you a little bit more about him…Bolo recently got the chance to be a volunteer’s work buddy and he did fairly well! He was a little unsure about being in the house at first, but relaxed a bit after a walk and some time sniffing around the yard.

Our volunteer reported back that he was very, very sweet and fairly low-key, so he’d be a great first pet. He was sure to sneak in a good nap before heading back to the shelter. We’d love to see this older guy find a soft spot to land this weekend — we really hate to see older doggos in the shelter.
